LPG Prices, August 1: 19Kg Per Cylinder Prices Hiked By Rs 6.5-8.5, 14.2Kg Revised; Check Latest Prices Here!

With the start of a new month, the oil marketing companies have revised prices of cooking gas aka LPG cylinders for Indian households. While the prices of 14.2 kg LPG cylinders did not see any change, however, prices were hiked by Rs 6.5 to Rs 8.5 in 19 kg cylinders with effect from August 1, 2024. The highest increase in LPG prices was in Kolkata and Chennai.

Here are the latest prices of LPG at Indian Oil in terms of city-wise:

From August 1, per cylinder of 19 kg is up by Rs 6.5 in Delhi, the lowest hike, to Rs 1,652.5 compared to the previous month's price of Rs 1,646.

Meanwhile, the highest hike was Rs 8.5 per 19 kg cylinder in the city of Kolkata to Rs 1,764.5 compared to earlier Rs 1,756.

In the case of Mumbai, the price was hiked by Rs 7 per cylinder. 19Kg is now available at Rs 1,605 per cylinder in the financial hub compared to the previous month's Rs 1,598.

Finally, the price of 19kg is increased by Rs 7.5 per cylinder to Rs 1,817 compared to the previous month's price of Rs 1,809.5.

The latest hike comes after the full-fledged Union Budget announcement for FY25. For the financial year 2024-25, Indian government estimates total receipts of Rs 32.07 lakh crore other than borrowings. The net tax receipts are estimated at Rs 25.83 lakh crore. The fiscal deficit is estimated at 4.9% of GDP.

Oil companies are one of the largest contributors to government's revenue.

Earlier, Indian Oil had trimmed 19kg per cylinder prices by Rs 30 to Rs 31 across cities in July 2024. Notably, in June, the OMC made one of the sharpest cut in its Indane Gas to the tune of Rs 69 to Rs 72 in the four metro cities mentioned above.

LPG Cylinder 14.2Kg Latest Prices:

In Delhi, 14.2 kg per cylinder continues to be at Rs 803 with effect from August 1, 2024.

In Mumbai, a 14.2 Kg cylinder is at Rs 802.50. This is the cheapest LPG price compared to Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai.

Additionally, in Kolkata, the 14.2 kg LPG price is the costliest compared to the other four metro cities, at Rs 829 per cylinder. Meanwhile, in Chennai, the 14.2 kg cylinder is available at Rs 818.50 per cylinder.
