LPG Prices From May 1: Check 5 kg & 10 kg Gas Cylinder Prices; How To Book Mini LPG At Indian Oil, BPCL, HPCL?

Indian oil marketing companies have revised LPG prices in India. While domestic commercial LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged for May 2026, the price of the 19 kg gas cylinder has increased. Amidst this, the cheapest LPG is available in 5 kg and 10 kg gas cylinders. That being said, let's check out the latest LPG rates here.

5Kg Gas Cylinder Prices Hiked From May 1:

Just like 19Kg cylinders, the price of 5Kg gas cylinder is hiked by Rs 261 per cylinder with effect from May 1, 2026, as per news agency ANI.

As per Indian Oil website, the 5Kg cylinder is priced in different categories. For instance in Mumbai, the price ranges from Rs 339 to as high as Rs 1,757.5 per cylinder.

The price of 5 KG XTRALITE LPG CYL- Filled is Rs 339, while the price of 5 KG FTL (POS) ND CYLINDER at Indian Oil is at Rs 1757.5. The price of 5 Kg LPG Cylinder Non Domestic - Filled is at Rs 798 in Mumbai.

The rates are different in Delhi. 5Kg cylinder in this city is available at Rs 339 for 5Kg XTRALITE LPG CYL, while the rate rises to Rs 3,363 for XTRALITE LPG Cylinder FTL Tertiary Sale.

As per the latest data of ministry, since 3rd April 2026, PSU OMCs have organised more than 9550 awareness camps for 5 Kg FTL Cylinders, wherein more than 1,59,000 - 5Kg FTL cylinders were also sold. This data was revealed on April 29, days before the price revision.

For commercial LPG, priority has been given to hospitals, educational institutions. Besides this, priority has also been given to pharma, steel, automobile, seed, agriculture, etc. In addition to this, supply of 5 Kg FTL to migrant labour is also doubled based on average daily supply on 2nd and 3rd March 2026, it said.

The ministry recently guided LPG providers to prioritize LPG supply, especially for domestic needs, and adopt targeted distribution of 5 kg FTL cylinders to ensure supply stability.

5Kg Gas Cylinders Booking In 10 Minutes?

Due to the geopolitical crisis in Middle East, one of the initiative of government is to make 5Kg LPG cylinders on the counter for citizens who do not have a fixed residents. Hence, Mini LPGs like Indane Chhotu, or Bharat Gas Mini or HP Gas Appu are available on the counter easily and can be bought in just 10 minutes. This comes as a major relief to migrants, workers, students and families who do not have fixed residency or address proof.

5 kg LPG cylinders are called Bharat Gas Mini, HP Appu Gas and Indane Chhotu or Munna, with a weight of around 20 kg. These Chhotu cylinders are small, free-trade LPG available without the need for proof of address or a lengthy application process.

Customers do not require submitting address proofs or security deposits to buy 5Kg cylinders. The 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder can be refilled as many times in the year. The time taken to refill can be even less than 10 minutes.

Moreover, 5 Kg FTL New Connections are being sold with minimal documentation, requiring only a simple identity proof (AADHAR), thereby removing access barriers for migrant workers apart from refill to the existing customers.

10Kg Gas Cylinder Prices From May 1:

From May 1, 2026, onward, 10Kg Indane Gas is priced at Rs 652 per cylinder in Delhi, at Rs 652.5 in Mumbai and at Rs 663.5 in Chennai. 10KG cylinder is most expensive in Kolkata to Rs 671 per cylinder.

How To Book Indane Chhotu Or Munna LPG Cylinder:

As per Indian Oil, the Chhotu gas cylinder is available in almost every district across the country. You can avail Chhotu from an authorized Indane distributor or distributor-appointed Point of sales (eg. Kirana store, IndianOil Retail outlets etc.). Customers should contact their nearest Indane distributor for more details.

Customers do not require submitting address proofs or security deposits to buy 5Kg cylinders. However, they can avail Chhotu gas cylinders by submitting Government a recognized Proof of Identity (POI) only.

How To Book HP Gas Appu LPG Cylinders?

HP Gas Appu is readily available to customers at HP Gas Distributorships, select HP Retail Outlets, select Kirana stores, Utensil Shops and several other points of sale (POS).

The first purchase requires the customer to buy the cylinder and the gas regulator. At the time of a subsequent refill, only the Gas cost has to be paid.
