LPG Prices Get Second Hike in May, Check Latest Rates In All Major Indian Cities Here

LPG prices have received yet another hike today thus making the prices of your 14 kg domestic cylinders dearer by Rs 3.50 with instant effect. It is worth noting that today's hike in the prices of LPG domestic cylinders is the second hike in the month of May. With today's hike, the prices of cylinder has gone past the Rs 1000-mark.

The surge in the today's prices has come on the heels of high consumer price index retail inflation for the month of April that was recorded at 7.8%, the highest since May 2014.

Earlier, the prices of LPG were hiked on May 7 by Rs 50 and before that prices were raised by similar Rs 50 on March 22, 2022.

Factors that played a role in the raise of the prices of LPG include the high fuel prices and transportations costs.

After the increase in the prices of LPG, now you will have to shell out Rs 1003 per cylinder in Delhi. The prices of 14-kg domestic LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 1003 in Mumbai while in Kolkata the prices are a little higher than these two metropolitan cities at Rs 1029 per 14-kg cylinder. Meanwhile, in Chennai, the LPG prices will be Rs 1019 per cylinder. In Patna, the prices will be now Rs 1093 per 14-kg cylinder.

It is worth mentioning that LPG prices are decided by state-run oil companies in India. The prices are revised every month. Nearly all households in India have got an LPG connection for the purpose of cooking. The surge in the prices of LPG will affect common man in several ways as they need to pay more to meet their requirement.
