Panic has escalated as businesses are on the brink of shutdown because of one reason. There is LPG crisis which has left many hotels, restaurants and households in distress. Cities like Punjab, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai among others have reported that there is LPG supply shortage. OMCs like HPCL, BPCL and Indian Oil have also issued a warning to their customers. These three PSU companies are the largest provider of gas cylinders in India.
The government has declared the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, to regulate, inter alia, the supply and distribution of petroleum and petroleum products. They have prioritised LPG production to curb LPG shrinkage requirements.
Meanwhile, Reliance Industries has said that they are taking proactive steps to prioritise LPG allocations in the country.

LPG Gas Cylinders Live Updates: Panic Erupts For Refilling LPG
As per reports, many cities were reportedly seeing panic buying over potential supply crisis. As per a PTI report, residents of Noida's Sector 63 had rushed to secure LPG refills. And a similar situation was reported in Vijayapura in Karnataka. Meanwhile, an Hindustan Times report said that various locations in Delhi faced massive queues for refilling LPG. It cited a representative from Atul Enterprises in Janata Market near Jhandewalan Temple in central Delhi said the system is not generating booking slips due to the new 25-day rule. Also, the report highlighted that some LPG outlets did not receive supply of the cylinders on Tuesday in the west Delhi.

The restaurants body, National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) has written a letter to Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh, seeking relief for hotels and restaurants who are struggling with LPG shortage across the country.
