L&T Technology Services Limited reported on Friday that it has secured a pioneering cybersecurity programme valued at approximately $100 million from the Maharashtra State Cyber Department, under the Government of Maharashtra. This groundbreaking initiative underscores LTTS' commitment to developing secure, digitally interconnected smart cities and enhancing public safety through premier cyber security and digital forensic solutions consolidated under one umbrella.
In collaboration with M/s KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP as a forensics partner, LTTS aims to provide advanced cyber security solutions for the state, bolstering its defence against cyber threats. The project involves designing a sophisticated cybersecurity system and establishing a state-of-the-art cybersecurity and cybercrime prevention center. Leveraging AI and digital forensic tools, the programme encompasses various components to address cybercrime incidents and investigations effectively.

Digital Threat Analytics Centre (DTAC) and Centre of Excellence (COE): Equipped with cutting-edge digital forensic tools such as deepfake detection, mobile malware forensics, IoT investigation, network forensics, object detection supporting crypto and blockchain, hardware and embedded forensics, drone forensics, social media forensics, image enhancement, voice analysis labs, IMEI/CDR analysis, CCTV acquisition tools, and computer forensics. These instruments improve the effectiveness of cybercrime investigations, expedite the management of crime scenes, and shorten response times.
Central Emergency Response Team (CERT): Tasked with incident response and investigation based on advanced cyber threat intelligence and analytics, including APT detection, data breach analysis, adversary intelligence from the darknet, advanced malware analysis, proactive threat hunting, and red teaming.
State-of-the-art Security Operations Centre (SOC): Fortified by AI and ML technologies, the SOC comprises a skilled cyber team responsible for protecting critical infrastructure. It manages a number of security-related issues, such as IDAM, PAM, UEBA, ZTNA, CASB, DLP, NAC, endpoint detection and response, SIEM, SOAR, and DNS security.
LTTS is now able to offer cutting-edge engineering solutions for public cyber safety thanks to the combination of Smart World and Communication, which has greatly increased capacity. With experience in setting up over 25 command centres, LTTS is well-positioned to deliver exceptional results on this project. The successful execution of this programme in India will not only fortify the cybersecurity infrastructure of Maharashtra but also pave the way for LTTS to extend these capabilities globally.
Amit Chadha, CEO and Managing Director of L&T Technology Services, emphasised the significance of this landmark deal beyond just a business achievement. He highlighted the growing criticality of cybersecurity and the need to invest in advanced digital safeguarding platforms and tools for the benefit of society. This deal serves as a testament to LTTS' commitment to excellence and sets the stage for scaling its offerings for global clientele.
Yezdi Nagporewalla, Chief Executive Officer of KPMG in India, expressed pride in being part of this groundbreaking initiative. He underscored the shared commitment to public safety demonstrated by collaborating with the Maharashtra State Cyber Department and LTTS as a forensic services partner.
LTTS' achievement in securing the $100 million cybersecurity programme for Maharashtra State signifies a significant step towards enhancing public safety and fostering secure digital ecosystems.
