Cyber security: Mohan Yadav announces Madhya Pradesh research centre on data protection

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said data is today’s most valuable asset and urged stronger digital security, comparing it to border protection. Speaking at a state workshop on strengthening cybersecurity frameworks, he announced a Cyber Security Research Centre and called for tighter steps against online crime as threats and methods continue to evolve.

Mohan Yadav spoke at a workshop on Strengthening the Cybersecurity Framework for State Data. The workshop focused on present risks and newer cyber threats. It also discussed data protection needs across departments. Another focus was the safety of digital governance systems used by the state.

Mohan Yadav said cyber technology and related risks have changed quickly in recent years. Mohan Yadav said these changes are happening in India and abroad. Mohan Yadav said, "Todays most valuable asset is data. Digital security is the need of the hour. Data security is as important as national border security.\"

Mohan Yadav said the planned Cyber Security Research Centre will be set up with partners. These include the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering in Mhow, Indore district. Other educational institutions will also join. Mohan Yadav said the centre will support cybersecurity research, innovation, and skills.

Mohan Yadav said the centre will have modern security systems. Mohan Yadav said it will help detect and track cyberattacks on time. Mohan Yadav said it will support steady vigilance. Mohan Yadav said the approach should be predictive, not only reactive.

Cyber security challenges, Operation Sindoor, and tighter action on cybercrime

Mohan Yadav said new issues are appearing each day in cyberspace. Mohan Yadav said crime techniques keep changing as well. Mohan Yadav said Operation Sindoor showed newer security risks. Mohan Yadav said drones and other modern tools shaped those challenges.

Mohan Yadav praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on national security efforts. Mohan Yadav said the Prime Minister spots new risks early. Mohan Yadav said action then follows to alert government and administration. Mohan Yadav said people are also made aware through such steps.

Mohan Yadav said it is painful when cybercriminals take away savings fast. Mohan Yadav said stronger action against cybercrime is urgent. Mohan Yadav said negligence is not acceptable in data security matters. Mohan Yadav said the state’s data remains a key asset.

Mohan Yadav said the government will take responsibility for compensation after a data breach. Mohan Yadav said cybersecurity has received top priority from the government. Mohan Yadav said these steps are needed as threats keep changing. Mohan Yadav said the state must stay prepared for newer attack patterns.

Cyber security workforce, cyber commandos, and 2028 Simhastha Kumbh Mela security

Additional Director General of Police cyber A Sai Manohar said six cyber commandos have been deployed. A Sai Manohar said 38 more have been selected for the state. A Sai Manohar said these steps aim to protect IT security. A Sai Manohar said capacity building is continuing.

A Sai Manohar said the Madhya Pradesh Cyber Cell will train 44 cyber commandos. The training is planned before the 2028 Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Ujjain. A Sai Manohar said around 3,000 engineering students and volunteers will train. A Sai Manohar said they will monitor and prevent cyberattacks.

A Sai Manohar said prevention, awareness, and fast response work best in cybersecurity. A Sai Manohar said the state is committed to protect digital assets. The planned centre and the trained teams are part of that approach. The workshop discussions also aimed to align departments on shared cyber risks.
