In a significant move towards enhancing technological collaboration, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the state's interest in partnering with Taiwan for semiconductor manufacturing. This announcement was made during an international seminar on Environmental Governance for Sustainable Future, which was organized by the Indore-based Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) and conducted via video conference. The seminar saw participation from various international entities, including the I-Shou University of Taiwan, highlighting the global interest in sustainable technological advancements.

With Taiwan's global leadership in chip production, Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the potential for investment in Madhya Pradesh's burgeoning semiconductor sector. "There is a lot of potential for investment in this sector in Madhya Pradesh too. In such a situation, we are very serious about moving forward in this area and will remove every difficulty coming in the way," he stated. This initiative is seen as a strategic move to tap into the advanced technological expertise of Taiwan, especially in areas critical to modern technology such as electric and hybrid cars, drones, and communication devices.
Further strengthening the ties between India and Taiwan, Yadav expressed the state's readiness to play a pivotal role in semiconductor manufacturing. He highlighted the mutual benefits of such cooperation, not only in terms of economic investment but also in academic collaboration. To this end, Madhya Pradesh aims to bolster academic exchanges with Taiwan, addressing the current needs of the semiconductor industry.
Adding to the Chief Minister's announcements, DAVV Vice-Chancellor Renu Jain shared details of a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taiwan's I-Shou University. This agreement focuses on the exchange of knowledge between the two institutions, particularly in information technology and chip manufacturing. "This partnership will facilitate a valuable exchange of knowledge and expertise, particularly beneficial for our students and faculty," Jain remarked.
This initiative by Madhya Pradesh not only aims at enhancing its technological infrastructure but also at fostering international academic partnerships. By aligning with Taiwan, a recognized leader in semiconductor production, Madhya Pradesh sets a precedent for other Indian states to follow suit in embracing global collaborations for technological advancement.
