In anticipation of the Mahakumbh 2025, a religious gathering held once every 12 years, the Uttar Pradesh Police has prepared a comprehensive security strategy to safeguard the millions of pilgrims expected. The event, which will span from January 13 to February 26, will see over 45 crore devotees converge at Prayagraj, the site of the Sangam, where the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers meet. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has called for stringent security measures around Prayagraj, focusing on critical access points. Under his direction, a layered security network comprising 102 checkpoints spread across seven essential routes has been established.
