Mahanagar Gas Share Price Today: PSU Stock Dips 5% Post Q4 Result, Dividend| Buy or Sell?
Mahanagar Gas Share Price Today: Shares of state-run Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) saw sharp decline in the previous session after the PSU reported a 46% decline in its consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter of financial year 2025-26. MGL also announced an 180% final dividend for FY 25-26.
Mahanagar Gas share price closed 5.58% lower at Rs 1106.55 per share on BSE with a market capitalisation of Rs 10,930.26 crore on Monday, May 11. The PSU stock had touched an intraday high of Rs 1,171.90 per share and an intraday low of Rs 1,101 per share.

Mahanagar Gas Dividend
Mahanagar Gas' board of directors had approved 180% final dividend for FY 26. Which means, that the board has approved a final dividend of Rs 18 per share with a face value of Rs 10 each. "This is in addition to the Interim Dividend of Rs.12/-per equity share, as declared by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on February 07, 2026. Accordingly, the total dividend for the financial year will be Rs. 30/-per equity share having a face value of Rs.10/-each," as per the BSE filing released by Mahanagar Gas.
The company is yet to announce the dividend record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders for the corporate action.
Mahanagar Gas Share Price Recommendation
While Mahanagar Gas reported a decline in its quarterly profit, its volume was in line with estimates, and long-term demand remained robust, as per the Motilal Oswal report released on Monday.
The company may see weak performance in the first quarter of FY 26-27, however it is likely to benefit from surge in demand for alternative fuels. The brokerage maintained its 'Buy' rating for the stock with a target price of Rs 1,390 per share.
"We model MAHGL's volumes to clock a 9% CAGR over FY26-28 and estimate an EBITDA margin of INR6.5/INR8.3 per scm in FY27/28. MAHGL currently trades at 11.8x FY28E SA P/E. We value MAHGL at 14x Dec'27 P/E to arrive at our TP of INR1,390. Reiterate BUY."
Mahanagar Gas Q4 Result Recap
Mahanagar Gas Ltd reported softer earnings for the quarter ended 31 March 2026, even as the board proposed a higher total payout to shareholders for the year. The state-run city gas distributor posted a 46.3 per cent year-on-year fall in consolidated net profit for Q4 FY26. Profit slipped to Rs 130 crore from Rs 241 crore reported in the same quarter of FY25, while revenue in the January-March 2026 period grew 4.5 per cent to Rs 2,052 crore from Rs 1,964 crore.
