Maharashtra Government Approves Two Major Projects in Aerospace and Silicon Wafer Sectors

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has sanctioned two significant projects in Ratnagiri, with a combined investment of Rs 29,550 crore. These initiatives are expected to create 38,120 jobs. Among them is a major aerospace and defence project by Reliance Infrastructure. The projects, which focus on advanced technology, include Silicon wafers, ATMP, fab, aerospace, and defence components.

Investment and Employment Opportunities

The first project involves the production of Silicon wafers, Fab, and ATMP. It is spearheaded by an Information Technology Park company based in Vellore. This venture will be located in Watad and Jhadgaon MIDC areas. With an investment of Rs 19,550 crore, it aims to generate 33,000 direct and indirect jobs. This marks the third such mega project in Maharashtra.

Reliance Infrastructure is behind the second project, focusing on aerospace and security equipment production. This initiative represents the state's first large-scale project in these sectors. An investment of Rs 10,000 crore is planned for this project, which will create 4,500 jobs. Both projects are expected to significantly boost employment opportunities in the region.

Economic and Technological Impact

These projects are anticipated to stimulate local economic growth by establishing new business ventures. They are also set to enhance technical innovation through research and development efforts. The initiatives will strengthen the local supply chain and benefit micro, small, and medium enterprises extensively.
