When and Where Will Manoj Kumar's Last Rites Be Held?

Manoj Kumar's son, Kunal Goswami, confirmed that the actor's cremation ceremony will take place in Mumbai on April 5, Saturday, at 11:00 am. The last rites will be performed at Pawan Hans, located in front of Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle. According to a report by the news agency ANI, the date and location for the ceremony have been confirmed. Family, friends, and fans will gather to pay their respects and bid a final farewell to the legendary actor.

At 11 a.m. tomorrow, Manoj Kumar's funeral procession will leave from his home. Kunal Goswami while confirming his father Manoj Kumar's last rites date told ANI, "He was very happy, though a little unwell due to his age. His cremation will take place tomorrow on Saturday, April 5, 2025."

Dr Santosh Shetty, CEO and executive director of the hospital, said in a statement, "He had been hospitalized for the past few weeks."

Manish R. Goswami, the veteran actor's cousin, called him a very talented filmmaker as "a true countryman, a true Indian" who focused on the nation in the majority of his films.


PM Narendra Modi to Bollywood: Condolences Pour In

Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered him as an 'icon of Indian cinema'. The PM paid his condolences to the veteran actor. PM posted, "Deeply saddened by the passing of legendary actor and filmmaker Shri Manoj Kumar Ji. He was an icon of Indian cinema, who was particularly remembered for his patriotic zeal, which was also reflected in his films. Manoj Ji's works ignited a spirit of national pride and will continue to inspire generations. My thoughts are with his family and admirers in this hour of grief. Om Shanti."

Speaking to the media, Kunal Goswami accepted Prime Minister Modi's condolences for the loss of his father, saying,"I thank PM Narendra Modi for his tweet... Be it Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim, or Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, these movies are still relevant today. The issues he raised are still relevant today whether in the Parliament or in the society," ANI reported.

The actor's cousin, Mr. Manish also said that PM Modi and Manoj had an old relationship, having met during the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. They also met when PM Modi came to Mumbai.
