Market Closing: Sensex Edges Above 230 Points & Nifty Ends Above 17,750 Driven By Pharma IT & Auto Sectors
Ahead of TCS Q4 numbers and retail inflation data point, Nifty and sensex ended in green today led by IT, Auto and pharma largely. Nifty closed at 17,766.55, up by 44.25 points (0.25%) while BSE Sensex ended 235 points (0.39%) higher at 60,392.77.

All the broader indices ended on a positive note, midap index was up by 0.65% at 30,824.05 and small cap index was up by nearly 4%.
Among sectoral indices PSU bank was biggest the biggest laggard, it was down by 0.64 % while most of them were up. IT, Auto and Pharma indices gained the most today and supported in today's rally, they were up by 1.06%, 0.94% and 2.23%
Amid mixed global cues, the Indian indices had marginally inched up, but then it picked up the pace as the day progressed. Total 1240 stocks advanced and 819 stocks declined on National Stock Exchange.
Divi's Lab (9.65%), Bajaj-Auto (2.55 %), Adani Ent (2.49%), Eicher Motors (2.44%) and Dr Reddy(2.22%) were top gainers on Nifty. Total 34 stocks advanced and 16 declined on Nifty today.
While Infosys (1.52%), Tata Motors (1.42%), HDFC Bank (1.27%), Asian Paints (1.17%) and Tech Mahindra (1.08%) were top gainers on BSE Sensex. At the same time 17 stocks advanced 13 stocks declined.
Powergrid, NTPC, Nestle India, Ultra Cement and Hindustan Uniliver were top losers on both the indices, they were down by nearly 2 to 1%.
Today would be the eighth consecutive session when the markets ended in green.
