Market Ends With Healthy Gains, Nifty Above 19,800

The Indian market ended Tuesday's session with gains, All frontline indices climbed up to 0.4% each. Sensex rises 261 points to end at 66,428, while Nifty climbs 80 points to 19,811. Nifty Bank adds 184 points to close at 44,409 and Midcap Index rises 143 points at 40,733. Sensex and Nifty lose at one-month highs.

HDFC Bank rises 1% after management offers positive commentary following Q2 results. Reliance and HDFC Bank contributed to nearly 50% of Nifty's gains. Can Find Homes rises 4% while IndusInd Bank falls from highs ahead of results.

Tyre stocks record healthy gains after Ceat reports a strong set of second-quarter numbers. MRF and JK Tyre hit record highs intra-day. Newgen Software adds as much as 11% to end at an all-time high after reporting strong Q2 results. Insurance stocks stage an up move after HDFC Life reports healthy Q2.

Mphasis remains under pressure ahead of its September quarter earnings, which fell 4% in the last two trading sessions. Dalmia Bharat slides nearly 3% after cautious management commentary post Q2 results. Oil marketing names like BPCL, HPCL and Indian Oil end with gains of up to 2% as crude stabilizes.
