Markets Open Higher; Yes Bank Sinks Another 4%
Benchmark indices opened the day higher, as Asian markets were quiet, on reports that the US was considering delaying tariffs on China, which were set to take effect on Sunday.
The Sensex was trading with gains of 93 points, while the Nifty opened the day higher by25 points. Shares in Yes Bank cracked 4 per cent, even as the Board was favourably considering Citax Holdings' $500 million offer, but the final decision on Citax investment will be in next board meet.
Shares in Vodafone Idea gained 2 per cent, after reports that the company was looking to sell assets to Brookefield.
Reliance Industries was among the one heavyweight which was seeing some selling pressure in early trade and was down 0.40 per cent.
Meanwhile, the rupee was trading higher at Rs 70.85 to the US Dollar, as against Tuesday's close of 70.95.
