Mastercard India Appoints Ex-SBI Chief Rajnish Kumar As Chairman

Leading Fintech company Mastercard on Thursday, September 14, announced that Mr Rajnish Kumar, the former Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI) has been appointed as the Chairman of Mastercard India.

Kumar will guide Mastercard's South Asia executive leadership team led by Gautam Aggarwal, Division President for South Asia & Country Corporate Officer, India, in navigating the domestic payments landscape, Mastercard said in a statement.

The seasoned banker works for India's biggest bank and has nearly four decades of expertise. Mr Kumar managed crucial operations in India, the UK, and Canada while serving in a variety of executive positions for the bank.

Additionally, he is highly famous for founding the YONO platform. In October 2020, he finished a three-year stint as SBI Chairman. He has held a wide range of leadership roles at SBI and its subsidiaries.
