Karuppu, Athiradi and Pati Patni Aur Woh Do are the latest films to hit the Indian box office this week. While Karuppu received huge praise, Athiradi emerged as the second biggest opener for Mollywood in 2026. However, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do recorded a lackluster demand on Day 1. Amidst this, movies like Raja Shivaji and Dhurandhar 2 are creating new milestones. The Riteish Deshmukh's Raja Shivaji is racing to become the highest-grossing Marathi film, while Dhurandhar 2's worldwide gross collection has surpassed Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2. Other movies like Bhoot Bangla and Krishnavataram also had a steady runtime.
Karuppu Box Office Collection:

This Tamil movie starring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan was released on May 15 at the box office. On its Day 1, the movie bags strong collections.
Data from Sacnilk revealed that on Day 1, Karuppu collected a net of Rs14.40 crore across 4,891 shows. This brings total India gross collections to Rs16.66 crore and total India net collections to Rs14.40 crore so far. Overseas, the film has grossed a total of Rs4.00 crore in gross collections, pushing its total worldwide gross collection to Rs20.66 crore.

Directed by RJ Balaji, Karuppu's storyline revolves around a lawyer becomes possessed by a deity and battles injustice affecting marginalized communities. The movie has gotten 7.9 out of 10 rating at IMDB.
Raja Shivaji Box Office Collection:
As of May 15, 2026, Raja Shivaji achieved a total gross collection of Rs 92.81 crore worldwide. In India, its net collection stood at Rs 78.40 crore with 69,903 shows. This has led Raja Shivaji to become the second highest grossing Marathi film in all time history. The movie is racing to hit Rs 100 crore club.
It will be keenly watched whether Raja Shivaji can overtake Sairat which released in 2016 and became the highest-ever grossing Marathi film with Rs 110 crore collection.

Directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Akshay Kumar, Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films, Bhoot Bangla is a comedy-horror film. Other casts include Paresh Rawal, Jisshu Sengupta, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Box Office:
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, starring Ayushman Khurana, is probably among the dull opener of May 2026. Released on May 15, the movie bagged a net collection of Rs 2.85 crore across 6,822 shows. In the overseas market, the movie saw Rs 1 crore collection. Its worldwide gross collection stood at Rs 5.62 crore.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do 2026 is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 film, featuring fresh casts such as Ayushmann Khurrana, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh. The movie is a romantic and chaotic comedy.
Athiradi Box Office Collection
Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph and Vineeth Sreenivasan starrer, Athiradi, recorded a net collection of RS 4.25 crore on Day 2 with 1,776 shows. This is a significant drop of 23.4% from Rs 5.55 crore net collection on Day 1, which made Athiradi, the second biggest opener in Mollywood in 2026.
Athiradi is an action comedy film, focusing on the efforts to bring back a famous festival that was stopped years ago.
Krishnavataram Part 1 Box Office Collection:
As per Sacnilk data, Krishnavataram's total gross collections stood at Rs 17.42 crore as of May 15, 2026, and the net collection was about Rs 14.72 crore so far.
Krishnavataram Part 1 portrays the epic devotional journey of Lord Krishna from Dwarka to Kurukshetra after separating with Radha. The movie showcases Krishna's profound connections with people and his timeless wisdom that he shares.
Dhurandhar 2 Box Office Collection:
Ranveer Singh's masterclass, Dhurandhar 2 finished its Day 59 at box office. As of May 15, 2026, the movie reported a worldwide collection of Rs 1,796.80 crore which includes Rs 1,370.13 crore collection in India and Rs 426.67 crore in overseas. Dhurandhar 2's India net collection stood at Rs 1,144.82 crore across 521,850 shows.
Dhurandhar 2 is now the second highest grossing film of Indian cinema's history. The first rank title is still held by Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rule - Part 2 whose gross collection is at Rs 1,471.10 crore and net collection at Rs 1,234.10 crore in India alone. However, in terms of worldwide wide collection, Dhurandhar 2 takes the title of highest grosser in all-time history of India as Pushpa 2's worldwide collection stood at Rs 1,742.10 crore.
