Physical intelligence joint venture: MEIL and Analog plan USD 300-500 million in India

Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) and Abu Dhabi-based Analog formed a joint venture in physical intelligence on Wednesday. The partners said the venture will focus on machines that learn from the real world. A pilot on intelligent traffic management is already running with the Hyderabad police.

MEIL, Analog form physical AI JV

MEIL Managing Director P V Krishna Reddy said commercial rollout should start within three months. MEIL is executing a couple of pilot projects in this area. Reddy also said the field offers major potential for new work across systems.

MEIL Analog physical intelligence JV investment plan

The joint venture plans to invest USD 300-500 million over the next three to four years. Reddy confirmed the expected spending while speaking to reporters. "We plan to invest nearly USD 300-500 million in the physical intelligence space over the next three to four years,\" Reddy told reporters at a press conference.

Physical intelligence means machines can sense, interpret, and act in the physical world. The approach relies on ongoing learning instead of fixed coding rules. The companies said this can support complex environments where conditions change often.

MEIL Analog physical intelligence JV structure and control

Alex Kipman, Founder and CEO of Analog, did not share financial details. Kipman said the venture is a 50:50 joint venture. Kipman also said it will operate independently, with both sides contributing different strengths.

\"MEIL brings the reach. Analog brings intelligence. Together, we will work across infrastructure, mobility, industrial systems, public safety, urban transformation and intelligent operations,\" Kipman said. Kipman listed areas like robotics, spatial computing, and advanced sensing. Kipman also cited AI-enabled real-world environments and operational intelligence.

MEIL Analog physical intelligence JV link to MEIL infrastructure business

Reddy linked the plan to MEIL’s wider infrastructure work in India. MEIL Group reported revenues of about Rs 60,000 crore in the last fiscal. The company also has an order book of nearly Rs 2.5 lakh crore, Reddy said.

\"Infrastructure has always been the foundation of progress. The future of infrastructure is intelligent, connected and adaptive. That is exactly what this partnership builds. We are proud to work with Analog to bring physical intelligence to India,\" Reddy said. The companies said early work includes the Hyderabad traffic project.

The partners said the joint venture will move from pilots to wider use soon. The investment plan runs for three to four years. MEIL and Analog said the independent 50:50 structure will support faster deployments. The Hyderabad police pilot will remain a key reference for next steps.
