Physical intelligence joint venture: MEIL and Analog to invest USD 300–500 million in India

Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) and Abu Dhabi-based Analog have formed a joint venture in physical intelligence. The partners said the venture will work on machines that learn and act in real settings. A pilot on intelligent traffic management is already running with the Hyderabad police. The companies said a wider commercial rollout is expected within three months.

Physical intelligence JV in India

MEIL Managing Director P V Krishna Reddy said the joint venture plans major spending over several years. "We plan to invest nearly USD 300-500 million in the physical intelligence space over the next three to four years,\" Reddy told reporters at a press conference. Reddy added that MEIL is executing a couple of pilot projects in this sector.

Physical intelligence joint venture investment plans

The firms described physical intelligence as systems that sense and respond through continuous learning. They said this differs from fixed, rule-based programming. Reddy said the area offers strong opportunities for India. The companies said the investment is planned over three to four years. Work is expected to move from pilots to wider use soon.

Analog Founder and CEO Alex Kipman did not share funding details for the venture. Kipman said it is a 50:50 joint venture and will run independently. \"MEIL brings the reach. Analog brings intelligence. Together, we will work across infrastructure, mobility, industrial systems, public safety, urban transformation and intelligent operations,\" Kipman said.

Physical intelligence deployment areas and pilot projects

Kipman said the partnership will target several use cases in India. These include intelligent infrastructure and mobility, smart urban systems, and advanced sensing. The plan also covers operational intelligence, robotics and spatial computing. Kipman also listed industrial transformation, public safety, and AI-enabled real-world environments as focus areas.

MEIL said the JV aligns with changes in how major projects are built and managed. \"Infrastructure has always been the foundation of progress. The future of infrastructure is intelligent, connected and adaptive. That is exactly what this partnership builds. We are proud to work with Analog to bring physical intelligence to India,\" Reddy said.

Physical intelligence talks with Telangana government

Earlier on Wednesday, Reddy and Kipman met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The meeting covered possible uses of physical intelligence in Hyderabad. The chief minister proposed integrating traffic signals across the city. The chief minister also suggested using technology to run signals efficiently for smoother traffic management, a release said.

The release said Kipman and Krishna Reddy shared their plans for next-generation infrastructure. It added that both outlined physical intelligence-based solutions for future needs. MEIL also shared business details during the briefing. The group reported about Rs 60,000 crore revenue in the last fiscal. MEIL said its current order book is nearly Rs 2.5 lakh crore.
