Milagrow Projects Over 3-Fold Revenue Growth in Three Years

Homegrown robotics firm Milagrow is on a strategic path to achieve a significant milestone in its financial growth, aiming to reach a revenue mark of Rs 100 crore within the next three years. This ambitious target comes in the wake of the company's impressive 1,200 per cent growth in 2020-21, a period marked by both challenges and triumphs, including the loss of its founder Rajeev Karwal to COVID-19 in May 2021. Under the leadership of Amit Gupta, who continues as the vice president, Milagrow has not only resumed operations but is also expanding its product line to include various types of cleaning robots.

Milagrow Eyes 3-Fold Growth

Milagrow's operational strategy includes assembling some products in India while maintaining a dedicated manufacturing facility in China. However, with an eye on further expansion and tapping into the burgeoning domestic market, Gupta revealed plans to establish a manufacturing presence in India, with potential locations being Uttar Pradesh or Uttarakhand. This move is anticipated within the next one to two years, aiming to fortify Milagrow's position against predominantly Chinese competitors in the Indian robotics market.

The company has made significant strides in product innovation tailored for the Indian consumer. The iMap 15 robot, equipped with algorithms designed for Indian customers and capable of communicating in six vernacular languages, stands as a testament to Milagrow's commitment to localization. Furthermore, Milagrow is pioneering in battery technology by developing EV grade batteries for its robots, promising 25 per cent higher longevity and 30 per cent more runtime than conventional batteries. This innovation is highlighted by the incorporation of a heavy-duty 5800 mAh EV grade battery in floor robots, ensuring an extended runtime of up to six hours.

In an effort to make robotics more accessible to the Indian market, Gupta emphasized the company's ongoing initiatives to reduce costs. Notably, Milagrow has achieved a 40 per cent reduction in the cost of LiDAR sensor models over the past one to two years. LiDAR sensors are crucial for enabling robots to autonomously map their operating environment. With products currently priced between Rs 12,000 and Rs 1.2 lakh, these cost-reduction efforts are pivotal for making advanced robotic solutions affordable for a wider range of customers.

Milagrow's journey reflects a blend of resilience and innovation, positioning it as a notable player in India's nascent robotics market. As the company moves forward with its expansion and localization strategies, it sets a promising trajectory towards achieving its revenue goals and strengthening its foothold in both domestic and international markets.
