India Slams Fujairah Drone Strike as 'Unacceptable’; Urges End to Attacks on Civilians and Oil Facilities

The response from New Delhi followed a drone strike that caused a fire at a key oil facility in Fujairah. The UAE has accused Iran of carrying out the attack amid heightened friction in West Asia. The strike has also added pressure on a fragile US-Iran ceasefire around the Strait of Hormuz.

The ministry of external affairs also denounced the Fujairah attack, labelling it "unacceptable" and urging that such actions stop. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "The attack on Fujairah that resulted in injury to three Indian nationals is unacceptable. We call for immediate cessation of these hostilities and the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians."

Jaiswal noted that India continues to support "dialogue and diplomacy" to bring stability across West Asia, and called for "free and unimpeded navigation and commerce" through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law. The Indian Embassy in the UAE said the injured Indians are under medical care, and officials are working with local authorities.

The UAE has stated that air defence systems intercepted several missiles and drones during the Fujairah attack, and that security forces remain ready to counter threats to its territory and sovereignty. Indian statements so far focus on civilian safety, de-escalation, and uninterrupted shipping through this crucial energy corridor.
