To further support women's entrepreneurship, Sitharaman mentioned the provision of credit facilities under the PM Mudra Scheme. This initiative offers loans without collateral and at concessional rates, with 70% of loans sanctioned to women and 30 crore beneficiaries enrolled. Additionally, 80% of funds under Stand Up India have been allocated to women, alongside a 10% reservation in the Fund of Funds managed by SIDBI for women-led startups. The Finance Minister also took pride in the fact that 20 out of 111 unicorns are led by women.

Addressing public procurement policies, Sitharaman stated that the government mandates 3% of total purchases from women-led businesses. She also celebrated the passage of the first bill in the new Parliament building, focusing on women's reservation. This legislation guarantees one-third of all seats in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies for women candidates.

The event, organized by food delivery app Swiggy, also saw Sitharaman condemning derogatory remarks made against a female candidate from her party. She referenced a political controversy involving Congress leader Supriya Shrinates' objectionable comments about actor Kangana Ranaut, who is contesting from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh on behalf of BJP.

This suite of policies and initiatives underscores the government's dedication to creating a more inclusive and equitable environment for women in India. By focusing on education, employment, entrepreneurship, and political participation, these measures aim to build a stronger foundation for women's rights and opportunities in the country.
