The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced that the monsoon is expected to grace Kerala by May 27, which is a notable five days ahead of its usual arrival date of June 1 according to the TOI reported. This is a significant shift, as the monsoon's early arrival is expected to have a positive impact on the agricultural cycle in the region.

The Central Meteorological Department reported that the monsoon has spread across the southeast Arabian Sea, the Maldives, the Comorin region, parts of the Andaman Sea, the Andaman Islands, and the south Bay of Bengal. Despite the monsoon's arrival, Kerala is anticipated to receive heavy rains even before it fully reaches the state.
According to the IMD, this year monsoon is expected to reach Kerala on May 27, 2025. This is earlier than usual. Normally, the monsoon begins on June 1. However, the rain could come a few days earlier or later. It could arrive between May 23 and May 31.
