Stocks To Added & Deleted in the August 2026 Review

Laurus Labs, Lenskart Solutions, Adani Energy Solutions and Billionbrains Garage Ventures, the parent company of Groww, have been added to the MSCI India Index.

Both Lenskart and Billionbrains Garage Ventures are among India's most recently listed companies to make it into the benchmark. Lenskart debuted on the exchanges on November 10, 2025, and Billionbrains Garage Ventures listed two days later, meaning both secured index inclusion within roughly 10 months of their market debuts.

Meanwhile , Balkrishna Industries, SBI Cards and Payment Services, and Astral have been removed from the benchmark.

With four additions and three deletions, the number of constituents in the MSCI India Index will rise to 166 from 165, while India's weight in the index inches up marginally to 11.9% from 11.8%.

According to estimates by Nuvama Alternative & Quantitative Research, the four new addition could bring substantial passive buying.
Laurus Labs is expected to see inflows of around $598 million, the highest among the four, followed by Lenskart Solutions at roughly $352 million, Adani Energy Solutions at about $310 million, and Billionbrains Garage Ventures at close to $256 million.

On the flip side, the three exclusions face passive outflows. Reuters estimates show that there will be potential outflows at around $169 million for Balkrishna Industries, $143 million for SBI Cards, and $138 million for Astral.

The MSCI India Index tracks the large- and mid-cap segments of the Indian equity market and covers close to 85% of the country's listed equity universe

MSCI's next regular index review is scheduled to be announced later this year on November 11th and any changes announced will take effect from December 1st
