The Uttar Pradesh government announces NAFED's plan to open 50 urad procurement centres across 17 districts, allowing farmers to sell at Rs 7,800 per quintal. Payments will be made directly to farmers' accounts within three days.
The Uttar Pradesh government announced that NAFED will establish 50 urad procurement centres in 17 districts. Farmers can sell their produce at a minimum support price of Rs 7,800 per quintal. Registration has begun, and procurement will commence soon. Payments will be made directly to farmers' bank accounts within three working days of the sale.

Under the Aatmanirbhar Dal Yojana by NAFED, direct procurement from farmers is set to continue until January 29, 2026. This initiative ensures fair pricing and removes middlemen from the process. The statement highlighted that the system is designed to benefit every eligible farmer.
NAFED's Farmer-First Approach
NAFED state head Rohit Jaiman stated that under Managing Director Deepak Agarwal's guidance, the system is being implemented swiftly and simply. The approach prioritises farmers, ensuring they receive benefits efficiently. Preparations for procurement are complete in several districts including Lalitpur, Jhansi, and Mahoba.
Farmers can bring their produce directly to designated market centres for sale. Jaiman emphasised that the farmer-friendly system ensures complete transparency. Payments will be credited to farmers' bank accounts within three working days, guaranteeing timely and fair compensation.
Registration Process and Eligibility
Only registered farmers are eligible under this scheme. Registration can be done through the e-Samridhi app or at any nearby NAFED centre. Farmers can gather more details from the helpline at 1800-210-1222. This ensures that all necessary information is accessible to farmers.
The initiative aims to provide a seamless experience for farmers by eliminating intermediaries and ensuring direct transactions. This approach not only guarantees fair prices but also promotes transparency in the procurement process.
The government's efforts reflect a commitment to supporting farmers by simplifying processes and ensuring they receive fair compensation promptly. This initiative is expected to benefit many farmers across Uttar Pradesh.
