Karnataka households will have to spend more on daily milk purchases from November 1, as the Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation (KMF) has revised Nandini milk prices by Rs 8 to Rs 12 per litre across different variants. The increase varies according to fat content, with popular options such as toned and homogenised milk also becoming costlier.
Nandini Milk Price Hike From November: Consumers To Pay Rs 8-12 More Per Litre
The increase means consumers will have to pay more for several popular Nandini products, with the revised rates varying across categories. The price change is expected to be felt most by families that buy milk regularly, particularly in cities such as Bengaluru, where daily household consumption can add up to a significant monthly expense.

Nandini Milk New Prices: What Has Changed?
Under the revised pricing, the cost of toned milk has increased from Rs 46 to Rs 54 per litre. Homogenised milk now costs Rs 56 per litre, compared with its earlier price of Rs 47. Special toned milk and Shubham milk, which previously cost Rs 52 per litre, will now be priced at up to Rs 64 per litre.
The increase is not the same for every variant. Depending on the product's fat content, consumers will pay between Rs 8 and Rs 12 more per litre. Households buying milk daily may therefore need to adjust their monthly grocery budgets to account for the higher rates.
The state government has defended the revision as a measure to support dairy farmers during a challenging period for milk producers. Under the proposed distribution of the Rs 8 base increase, Rs 7 will go to milk farmers, while Re 1 will be allocated to milk unions to cover operational expenses.
The decision follows discussions involving milk unions, dairy farmers and KMF officials. The stated objective is to provide better returns to producers while helping cooperative milk unions manage their operating costs.
