Nandini Milk Price Hike: Karnataka Cabinet Clears Rs 8 Per Litre Increase from November; Check New Prices
Karnataka's Nandini milk could become costlier from November, with the state Cabinet giving its approval to a proposal to raise prices by Rs 8 per litre. The decision was taken on October 6, but consumers will have to wait for a formal notification as the Model Code of Conduct for the Legislative Council elections is currently in force.
Nandini Milk Price Hike: Karnataka Cabinet Clears Rs 8/Litre Increase
The government is now expected to approach the Election Commission for clearance to implement the proposed revision. The matter could return to the Cabinet at its next meeting, with November 1 being considered as the likely start date. The final increase, however, is yet to be fixed and will be decided by Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

Nandini Milk Price May Rise From Rs 46 To Rs 54
The proposed revision will have a direct impact on the price of Nandini's basic toned milk, sold in the blue packet. At the proposed rate, the price would move up from Rs 46 per litre to Rs 54 per litre.
That would mean an extra Rs 8 for every litre purchased. A family consuming two litres a day would spend about Rs 16 more each day, taking the additional monthly expense to around Rs 480 over a 30-day period.
The increase will be more noticeable for households that buy milk in larger quantities. It could also affect daily food expenses because milk is commonly used for tea, coffee, curd, sweets and breakfast preparations.
