NDTV Ltd, a prominent news broadcaster, has reported a significant 59 per cent increase in its March quarter revenue, marking a notable expansion in its digital footprint. This growth comes alongside a 39 per cent surge in global digital traffic across its platforms in March 2024 compared to April 2023. Despite these gains, the company experienced a consolidated net loss of Rs 8.74 crore in the January-March period, a shift from the Rs 1.35 crore profit recorded in the corresponding period last year. However, this loss represents an improvement from the Rs 10.13 crore loss reported in the December quarter.

Revenue from operations saw a substantial rise, reaching Rs 106.52 crore up from Rs 66.96 crore in the January-March timeframe. NDTV Convergence, the digital arm of the company, played a crucial role in this performance enhancement, witnessing a significant increase in its digital traffic globally.
The company's strategic initiatives have been pivotal in adapting to changing consumer preferences and market dynamics, contributing to its impressive growth trajectory. Notably, attrition rates have decreased by 58 per cent from the previous year, indicating a strengthening internal environment.
Throughout the financial year, NDTV has broadened its reach across various consumer segments with the introduction of new channels including NDTV MP-CG, NDTV Rajasthan, and NDTV Profit. The upcoming launch of NDTV Marathi on May 1 is part of the broadcaster's ongoing expansion strategy, transitioning from a two-channel setup to encompass six channels. This expansion necessitates substantial investments in next-generation infrastructure to support future growth objectives despite impacting short-term financial performance.
A new broadcast facility has been established in BKC, Mumbai, with another advanced integrated facility set to become operational in NCR, Delhi soon. These developments underscore NDTV's commitment to creating long-term shareholder value by leveraging its premium brand to introduce new products, expand its audience base, and enhance operational efficiency through technological investments.
As NDTV embarks on the new financial year, it continues to build on its expansion momentum with the forthcoming launch of NDTV Marathi and the reimagining of its international offering with NDTV World. This initiative aims to feature original shows that provide an Indian perspective for a global audience and the Indian diaspora.
For the full fiscal year of 2023-24, NDTV reported a net loss of Rs 22.54 crore, contrasting with the Rs 52.18 crore profit seen in the previous financial year. This financial performance reflects both the challenges and opportunities faced by the broadcaster as it navigates through an evolving media landscape.
