NEET UG Fee Refund 2026 Live: NTA Fee Refund Link neet.nta.nic.in; How To Update Bank Details & Claim Money?
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the process for fee refunds to those candidates who applied for NEET UG 2026 examinations. This development comes after NTA cancelled the NEET exam due to a paper leak and announced re-examination dates with an option to claim refunds of fees. However, the process link for NEET refunds is yet to be activated on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.

The NEET 2026 refund link is still not activated on the official NTA portal. Earlier, it was scheduled that the refund link for NEET UG 2026 would go active on May 21. However, as per reports, the link is yet to be live on neet.nta.nic.in.
Once activated, candidates can apply for refunds.
NEET UG 2026 Fees Refund Amount:
As per the Careers360 report, the refund amount ranges from Rs 1,700 to Rs 9,500 depending upon the category of students. For instance, Rs 1,700 refund is allowed to general category students, while Rs 1,600 refund is applicable for OBC/EWS students and Rs 1,000 is announced for SC/ST/PwD students. If a student is an NRI, the refund amount is Rs 9,500.

Candidates are advised to login using their credentials mentioned in the application. The NTA has allowed candidates to update their bank account details if they wish to during the refund process.
NTA has advised students to ensure that the bank account details entered are correct to avoid refund delays or transaction failures. As per PW Live, here is the procedure to claim refund for NEET US 2026:

Step 4: Enter bank account details carefully

NEET UG 2026 Re-Examinations
The NEET UG 2026 exams were held on May 3, 2026, and more than 22 lakh medical students had appeared for the papers. It was estimated that the total spending by these students for NEET exams 2026 stood around Rs 23,152.5 crore. On average, Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh per student annually was spent on coaching classes, study materials, online subscriptions, mock tests, hostel accomodations and travel expenses among others.
However, these students faced a huge shock when the NEET 2026 exams were cancelled after papers were conducted. The reason was paperleaks. This cancellation led to massive protests and uproar among opposition against the current handling of NEET examinations by NTA.
Later on, NTA announced the re-examination dates on June 21 from 2pm to 5:15 pm across India. Further, they will give an additional 15 minutes will be offered to students for processing, completing documentations, and verifications. The admit card for re-examination is expected to be issued on June 14.
However, NTA also extended the application deadline for RE-NEET to May 23, 2026. Accordingly, the correction dates in the application forms, are also extended to May 25 to May 27, 2026.
Also, the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan told medias that NEET is expected to be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) in the coming years.
What Is NEET UG 2026?
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG) is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions. Similarly, as per Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, there shall be a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to undergraduate courses in each of the disciplines i.e. BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act. NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to admission to BHMS course as per National Commission for Homeopathy Act, 2020.
The languages in which the NEET (UG) 2026 would be conducted are English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. MNS (Military Nursing Service) aspirants seeking admission to BSc Nursing Course being conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2026 are required to qualify for NEET. The NEET score will be used for shortlisting for selection to the four-year BSc Nursing course.
