New LPG Cylinder Rules 2026: How to Surrender Indane, HP Gas & Bharat Gas Cylinder Online & Ofline By June 30
Under the revised LPG policy introduced on March 14, 2026, households with active PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connections are now required to voluntarily surrender their domestic LPG connections as part of the government's "One Household, One Gas Connection" initiative. The move is aimed at reducing duplicate domestic gas connections, preventing LPG misuse, and improving subsidy targeting under the Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG (DBTL) scheme.

The government has extended the National PNG Drive 2.0 deadline till June 30, 2026, giving consumers additional time to complete the LPG surrender process.
Why Consumers Are Being Asked to Surrender LPG Connections
According to the new LPG Control Order Amendment, households already using PNG connections may no longer be eligible to retain subsidised domestic LPG cylinders. Authorities believe multiple domestic gas connections in a single household contribute to duplicate consumption, black market risks, and subsidy leakages.
Consumers should note that failure to comply within the prescribed deadline could result in suspension of LPG subsidies or automatic deactivation of domestic LPG accounts.
