Nifty Tops 12987, Sensex Gains 431 Points; Nifty Metal Shines On Expiry Day

In yet another trading day, buoyed by strength in metal pack, Nifty ended at 12987, while Sensex reclaimed levels of 44000 at the close.

Top gainers on the benchmark indices are JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Grasim, Bajaj Finance and Adani Ports. While losers in trade have been Eicher Motors, Maruti Suzuki, BPCL, Tech Mahindra, HDFC Life.

Sail, NALCO, Jindal Steel led the list of gainers in Nifty Metal packing gaining as much as 8 percent.

Nifty Bank also recovered losses towards the end of the session and some of the PSU Banks gained substantially.

Dewan Housing Finance locked in 5 percent upper circuit after the company managed to trim its losses in the Q2 period.

Meanwhile, European markets were marginally positive but FTSE was still weaker at the time of writing this copy. US Stock Futures were positive with gains of 0,26 percent on the NASDAQ pointing to a higher opening.
