Nifty Gives Up 15000 Points To End Higher By 30 Pts. JSW Steel Top Gainer

Indices in a volatile session after hitting 15,000 on the Nifty in early trade, gave up most gains. The drag came from PSU Bank, Auto, FMCG and IT pack. Broader markets however underperformed the indices.

 

At the close, Sensex ended higher by 32 points at 49765, while Nifty ended up by 30 points at 14894.

 

Among sectoral indices, metal was the outlier in trade gaining over 4 percent. Individually, stocks from the steel space and Bajaj twins stood as top Nifty gainers. While losers included stocks like Eicher Motors, Hero Motocorp, HDFC, HCL Tech and Tata Motors.

Meanwhile , FMCG company HUL reported 45 percent jump in its Q4 profit to Rs. 2190 crore and at the same time revenue also jumped 35 percent.

Shares of UTI AMC hit 52-week high as the company returned to profitability in Q4fy21.

Also, European shares at the time of writing this report traded mixed, with FTSE up over .58 percent.
