Nifty Hits 17300 Levels; Sensex Climbs To 58000 For The First Time
Buoyancy in the stock market continues and it has hit fresh highs in trade on September 3,2021. Sensex has scaled 58,000 levels, while Nifty hit 17,312 levels as the record high. Mid-cap index also gained to a fresh high in the broader markets.
In a strong market, top gainers on the Nifty include stocks like Kotak Mahindra, Grasim, Titan Company, Reliance and Eicher Motors, while losers in early trade have been HDFC Life, HCL Tech, Maruti, HDFC and Shree Cements.
Sectorally, FMCG, IT and pharma were weak in trade, while Realty and PSU Bank saw the most gains of close to 2 percent.
HDFC Life which was the top gainer on the Nifty in previous day's trade is in focus after the company is said to acquire Exide Life Insurance.With the acquisition, the company's AUM will increase by 10%. Also, it would increase the margin of the new business.
Meanwhile, Asian markets are trading mixed with Nikkei trading higher by over 1 percent, while Hang Seng was down in trade today.
The gains in the Indian stock market is largely to do with immense liquidity and positive macros.
