Nifty Notches 17,800 Levels On Second Trading Day Of Cy22; RIL Most Active

The markets have been buoyant for the first two sessions of trade of the Cy 2022 with investors' jumping manifold. Sensex in two days has added 1600 points, while Nifty has notched levels of 17,800 points. The day once again has been good for Bank Nifty with gains over 1 percent, while broader markets have been underperforming.

At the close, Nifty settled higher by 180 points at 17805, while Sensex climbed levels of 59855 after gaining 673 points intra-day.

Stocks like NTPC, ONGC, SBI, RIL and Power Grid led the list of gainers, while laggards included stocks like Tata Motors, Coal India, Sun Pharma, Tata Consumer Products and Shree Cements.

Among Nifty sectoral indices, banking pack has been the most robust in trade today with gains over 1 percent, while metal, pharma and realty have been laggards.

Sugar stocks have been another pack buoyant in trade on good outlook on government's supportive measures.

Asian markets largely ended the day on a positive note with Japan's Nikkei gaining over 1.7%, while Shanghai Composite has been soft in trade. European markets also had a good day with gains of 1.25 percent on FTSE.
