Nifty Realty Outperforms; Sunteck, Prestige and DLF Near 52-Week High
Indian indices in trade on January 12, 2022 are trading firm with Sensex reclaiming 61,000 levels, while Nifty last traded at 18,156 with gains of 1.56 percent. The broader indices meanwhile are outperforming the headline indices.
Among Nifty sectoral indices, all of the indices barring Nifty Pharma traded in the green, while outlier in trade today has been Nifty Realty gaining to intra-day high of 514.8. All the 10 shares within the Nifty Realty have been trading in the green up between 1-7 percent. The top performer in the pack has been Prestige Realty gaining 7 percent. The stock is also trading close to its 52-week high of 522 at Rs. 490.1 per share. Likewise, 2 more stocks from the segment including Sunteck and DLF are close to hitting their 52-week high price of Rs.588.5 and Rs. 449.7 per share.
Meanwhile other counters such as Ajmera Realty and Infra India, Purvankara also gained up to 10 percent. There is a healthy outlook for the sector in 2022 with prices of the residential asset class also expected to increase by 5 percent. Further the demand across asset classes in the segment shall still be at the same level as that in 2021. In fact some of the segments like the office segment and warehouses shall be seeing an increase in volumes owing to increased hiring segment in the IT sector and growth of the e-commerce segment, respectively.
