Nissan Digital Teams Up with Kerala Institute for Management Training

In a significant move towards enhancing the management skills of its technical department employees, Nissan Digital has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the DC School of Management and Technology (DCSMAT) in Kerala. This collaboration marks the inauguration of an Executive MBA programme specifically designed for Nissan Digital's workforce in India, to be held at DCSMAT's Thiruvananthapuram campus.

Nissans New Management Training Initiative

Ramesh Miraje, Head of Nissan India Digital, underscored the initiative's goal to fill the management skills gap observed in employees with strong backgrounds in applied data science and other technical fields. Miraje pointed out the necessity of management acumen in today's professional environment, stating that technical knowledge alone does not suffice for career advancement. The programme is tailored to encourage employees hesitant about furthering their education in management to take this step, offering classes in the evening to accommodate working professionals.

Moreover, Miraje highlighted an additional objective of the programme: to re-integrate employees who have transitioned to remote work since the onset of Covid-19 back into a more traditional work environment. This initiative is not only about skill enhancement but also about revitalizing the workforce and fostering a sense of community among employees post-pandemic.

The Executive MBA programme aims to draw talent from across India to Thiruvananthapuram, thereby cultivating a more vibrant and skilled workforce at Nissan Digital. This move is expected to significantly contribute to the company's growth and innovation capabilities.

The announcement of this MoU was made even more noteworthy as it coincided with DCSMAT receiving the Best B-School award from the Trivandrum Management Association, adding a layer of prestige and promise to this educational venture. Through this partnership, Nissan Digital and DCSMAT are setting a precedent for how corporations and educational institutions can collaborate to mutually benefit and enhance the skills of the workforce.
