The Uttar Pradesh government announced that construction on the Noida International Film City project will begin within six months. This initiative is expected to generate 50,000 jobs and indirectly benefit up to seven lakh people. The project is a collaboration between Bayview Projects, supported by filmmaker Boney Kapoor and real estate developer Ashish Bhutani, and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).

The state government highlighted that the film city will provide employment opportunities for 50,000 individuals from Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring states. Additionally, it will indirectly create job opportunities for five to seven lakh people. The project aims to offer a viable alternative to established film hubs like Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
Focus on Talent Development
A film institute will be established within the complex to nurture talent and support youth aspiring to careers in filmmaking. This underscores the state's commitment to developing local talent and providing new opportunities in the film industry. YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh mentioned that the film city is part of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision and will soon become a reality.
Singh stated that construction is scheduled to start within four to six months, with film-related activities expected to commence within three years. He emphasized that this initiative would benefit actors, technicians, mixers, cameramen, and storytellers who face challenges accessing platforms within the state.
Unique Features of the Film City
The film city will address shortcomings found in other film cities across India. Its proximity to Jewar airport will significantly reduce travel time, offering convenience not available in cities like Mumbai or Hyderabad. Accommodation arrangements will be available on-site, along with outdoor shooting locations and film institutes for training.
The complex will feature replicas of destinations such as Himachal, Kullu Manali, and Kashmir. It will include roads, airports, helipads, temples, mosques, churches for shooting purposes. Villas for accommodation and backlots for shooting will also be provided. Advanced technologies like sound mixing and VFX will be integrated into the infrastructure.
After signing the agreement on Thursday, Boney Kapoor expressed his commitment to making this the world's best film city. Ashish Bhutani, MD of Bhutani Indra, stated that the first phase of the project would cover 230 acres and require a minimum investment of Rs 1,510 crore.
This project aims to fulfil the aspirations of people seeking opportunities in the film industry while providing a comprehensive ecosystem for filmmaking activities. The establishment of this film city is expected to bring significant economic benefits and create numerous job opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.
