Noida International Airport: First Phase to Cost Rs 10,056 Crore, 70% Work Completed
The first phase of the Noida International Airport, estimated to cost Rs 10,056 crore, is nearing completion with 70% of the work done. The airport is set to open for operations by September 2023.
The upcoming international airport in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, is progressing steadily with the first phase of development set to be completed by September 2024. The project, estimated to cost Rs 10,056 crore, has already seen an investment of around Rs 7,100 crore, covering over 70% of the financial expenditures.

Progress Review and Completion Target
S P Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, recently reviewed the progress of the airport and emphasized the importance of meeting the completion deadline. The first phase of the airport, spread across 1,300 hectares, is scheduled to commence flight operations by September this year.
Key Developments and Infrastructure
During the review meeting, officials from Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), the concessionaire for the greenfield airport, provided updates on the ongoing construction work. The terminal building, ATC tower, and runway are being constructed by EPC contractor Tata Projects as per the development plan.
YIAPL informed that additional machinery and workforce have been deployed at the airport site to ensure timely completion of the project. The concessionaire assured the officials that the airport construction will be finished within the stipulated timeframe.
Financial Details and Phase 1 Capacity
OSD Shailendra Bhatia, who is also the additional CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Authority, revealed that the total expenditure for the first phase of the airport development stands at Rs 10,056 crore. Out of this, approximately Rs 7,100 crore has been spent so far, covering land acquisition and development.
In its initial phase, the airport, designated with the code DXN, will feature a single runway and a terminal building capable of handling 12 million passengers annually.
The Noida International Airport project is a significant infrastructure development that will enhance connectivity and boost economic growth in the region. With the first phase nearing completion, the airport is poised to become a major transportation hub, catering to both domestic and international travelers.
