Noida International Airport Will Now Be Called Narendra Modi International Airport; All You Need To Know
The Noida International Airport in Jewar is now going to be renamed Narendra Modi International Airport.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced this decision on Friday, October 9, saying that the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet today has finally approved the proposal.

After the completion of the construction work, the Jewar airport will be the third airport in Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region (NCR).

The Noida International Airport is located in Jewar in Gautam Buddh Nagar district and the project began on November 25th, 2021.
At the conference, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the Council of Ministers expressed its gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the Chief Minister, the airport will become Uttar Pradesh's largest airport and an important one for the country. It will benefit several districts, including Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Etawah and Faridabad.
However, the exact date from which the new name will officially come into effect has not yet been finalised.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Phase I of Noida International Airport on March 28, 2026.
The airport is being developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, which is the airport's developer and operator. Public-private partnership.
The first phase was built at an estimated cost of around Rs. 11,200 crore. Phase I includes one runway, Passenger terminal, Cargo infrastructure, Air traffic control facilities, Landside and airside infrastructure, & Multimodal connectivity infrastructure. The runway is around 3,900 metres long and is capable of handling wide-body aircraft. The terminal covers more than 1 lakh square metres.
The first phase has an initial passenger handling capacity of around 12 million passengers per year.
Once fully developed, the airport is expected to have six to eight runways. If completed as planned, it would make Jewar one of the largest airport projects in India in terms of runway infrastructure. Also it will become the third airport serving the NCR, alongside Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad.
