The agitation led to widespread traffic disruptions across the city, particularly in key industrial corridors. Commuters reported being stuck in long queues, with bumper-to-bumper congestion stretching for kilometres and delays lasting over an hour in several locations.

Tensions escalated further in the Phase-2 industrial area, where visuals from the ground showed protesters damaging vehicles, including a police van. Authorities responded by deploying additional security personnel to the affected zones in an effort to bring the situation under control and prevent further escalation.

The protesting workers have reiterated their demand for better wages and improved working conditions, while officials continue to monitor the situation closely.

Delhi-Noida Border Hit by Traffic Snarls; Alternate Routes Advised

The impact of the protests was most visible near the Delhi-Noida border, particularly around the Chilla Border and Noida Link Road, where long traffic snarls were reported. Authorities noted that congestion persisted for hours, causing inconvenience to daily commuters.

Traffic police have advised motorists to avoid the affected stretches and opt for alternate routes. Commuters are being redirected via the DND Flyway through Sarai Kale Khan or the NH-24 corridor, with access to Noida through Kondli Bridge and Noida Mod.

The unrest is not limited to Noida. Similar demonstrations have been reported in Faridabad, where employees of the Motherson Group are protesting for better wages. In some cases, workers reportedly entered factory premises and prevented senior staff from leaving.

Protests have also spread to parts of Bhiwadi, indicating a wider wave of labour unrest across industrial regions.

Cab, Auto and Bike Fares Surge Amid Noida Protests

The ongoing protests and the resulting traffic disruptions have also led to a spike in local transportation costs across affected areas. Commuters reported a noticeable increase in fares for cabs, auto-rickshaws, and bike taxis, as congestion and diversions reduced vehicle availability.

Many passengers said they were forced to pay higher-than-usual rates or wait significantly longer to secure a ride.
