The program offers free self-learning basic entrepreneurship courses in various languages on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH). Upon completing these courses, participants will receive a co-branded certificate from NSDC, Britannia Industries, and the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), recognising their entrepreneurial skills.

This initiative seeks to empower around 25 lakh women across India by equipping them with the necessary skills and resources to start and grow successful businesses. A statement highlighted that this program aims to provide women with the tools needed to thrive in the entrepreneurial landscape.

Grand Finale and Financial Grants

The program will conclude with a grand finale where the top 50 contestants will present their business ideas to a distinguished jury. To foster innovation and excellence, Britannia Industries will award financial grants of Rs 10 lakh each to 10 of the most successful contestants.

Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, stated, "We have achieved significant progress in entrepreneurship through NIESBUD and special programs with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Rural Development and other ministries."

Collaborative Efforts

Tiwari also mentioned that they are working closely with other corporates and government departments to provide skill training to women's self-help groups. This collaboration aims to help organise these groups into various business entities, whether individually or collectively.

Jan Rajneet Singh Kohli, CEO and Executive Director of Britannia Industries, emphasised the importance of this partnership in the skilling segment. He said, "This partnership amplifies our commitment to creating a nurturing ecosystem where women can lead, innovate, and drive our economy forward. Together, we are empowering women to reach their full potential."

The Women Entrepreneurship Program is a significant step towards empowering women entrepreneurs in India. By providing essential skills and resources, this initiative aims to create a supportive environment where women can thrive and contribute to the economy.
