On Wednesday, indices turned volatile in the afternoon trade, after NSE and BSE extended trading hours till 5 pm for the day after trading was halted for over three hours. NSE opened for pre-open trade at 3:45 pm.
BSE's Sensex traded around 50,100 levels at around 4 pm, up 380 points with ONGC, Bajaj Finance, and Axis Bank being the main gainers on the index. Meanwhile, tech stocks TCS and Infosys slid 1% each.
NSE's Nifty50 index topped the 14,800-mark post resumption of trade.

Trading was halted on all segments on NSE at 11:40 am because of a technical glitch and Nifty was frozen at 14,820.45-level, up 112.65 points or 0.77%.
NSE said in a press statement the exchange has received communication from telecom service providers that there were issues with their links due to which there was an impact on its system.
All pending orders were automatically cancelled when the market re-opened. Brokering service providers asked their clients to re-place their orders after the market opened at 3:45 pm.
