NSE Excludes ACC, Nykaa From Nifty Next 50, PNB, Trent, TVS Motor Included

On Thursday, NSE excluded Adani-owned ACC, Nykaa, HDFC AMC, Indus Towers, and Page Industries from the Nifty Next 50 index and included PNB, Shriram Finance, Trent, TVS Motor, and Zydus Lifesciences.

"The Index Maintenance Sub-Committee (Equity) has decided to make the replacement of stocks in various indices. These changes shall become effective from September 29, 2023 (close of September 28, 2023)," said NSE in a statement.

Beginning on September 29, the Nifty 100 index will additionally witness the replacements. In addition to Punjab National Bank, Shriram Finance, Trent, TVS Motor and Zydus Lifesciences, Tata Motors will also be a member of the Nifty 100, according to an NSE press statement.

The broader Nifty 500 index has also undergone revisions from NSE, with a total of eighteen companies scheduled to be excluded on September 29. They include, among others, Godrej Agrovet, Jindal Worldwide, Hinduja Global Solutions, Mahindra Logistics, and Indiabulls Real Estate. 18 organisations, including Gillette India, Alok Industries, Procter & Gamble Health, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, and Kirloskar Ferrous Industries, among others, would take their position.

Nifty 500, Nifty 100, Nifty Midcap 150, Nifty Smallcap 250, Nifty Midcap Select, Nifty Midcap 50, Nifty Midcap 100, Nifty Smallcap 50, Nifty Smallcap 100, Nifty 200, Nifty LargeMidcap 250, Nifty MidSmallcap 400, Nifty Microcap 250, Nifty Total Market, are the indices which also went through several adjustments.

Aavas Financiers, Affle (India), Alkyl Amines, Clean Science, Happiest Minds, and PNB were among the companies that were banned from the Nifty Midcap 150; however, starting on September 29, ACC, Nykaa, the Bank of Maharashtra, HDFC AMC, RVNL, and Indus Towers would also be included in the index.

According to NSE, there are no modifications being made to the Nifty 50 and Nifty 50 Equal Weight indices.
