NTA Cancels May 3 NEET UG 2026 Exam Amid Ongoing Paper Leak Investigation; Revised Schedule to Be Released
The National Testing Agency cancelled NEET UG 2026 following a paper leak investigation led by the Rajasthan Police SOG. A new test schedule and admit card arrangements will be published through official NTA channels to ensure fairness and transparency for all candidates.
The National Testing Agency has cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination held on May 3, 2026, and will conduct a fresh test after new dates are decided. The announcement on May 12, 2026 follows an ongoing probe into an alleged question paper leak being handled by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group.
NEET UG 2026 Cancelled Nationwide; Revised Schedule to Be Released Soon
NEET UG 2026 is the national entrance test for undergraduate medical courses, conducted across various centres in India, including in Sangareddy district. The cancellation now applies to all candidates who appeared for the May 3 paper, and the earlier test will no longer be considered valid.

NEET UG 2026 cancellation linked to leak allegations
Rajasthan Police Special Operations Group officials have started action over suspected irregularities in NEET UG 2026. The investigation focuses on “a guess paper” that circulated before the examination and reportedly contained questions that closely matched the official paper. Additional Director General Vishal Bansal has said the team is checking if this circulation is tied to organised crime networks.
"On the basis of the inputs subsequently examined by NTA in coordination with the central agencies, and the investigative findings shared by the law enforcement agencies and in order to ensure that there is transparency in the system, the National Testing Agency, with the approval of the Government of India, has decided to cancel the NEET (UG) 2026 examination conducted on 3 May 2026, and to re-conduct the examination on dates that will be notified separately," the NTA said in a press release.
NEET UG 2026 re-exam schedule and official communication
"The re-conducted examination dates, along with the re-issued admit-card schedule, will be communicated through the official channels of the Agency in the coming days," it added. Candidates are expected to receive all future updates only through the National Testing Agency’s authorised platforms, and earlier admit cards for May 3 will not apply for the new test.
In a note issued as a follow-up to its May 10, 2026 press release, the NTA mentioned that, on May 8, 2026, it had referred issues then under consideration to central authorities.
