NTPC and its subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy, reported their fourth-quarter earnings for the financial year 2025-26. The Maharatna PSU reported a 34% annual jump in its net profit; however, its renewable energy arm reported a 15% decline in its Q4 profit.

Investors are likely to react to the Q4 earnings announcements, which could lead to result-specific movement in the share prices of NTPC and NTPC Green Energy.

NTPC share price closed 0.13% lower at Rs 388.45 per share on BSE with a market capitalisation of Rs 3,76,667 crore on Friday, May 22. Shares of its renewable energy arm, NTPC Green Energy, ended 0.95% lower at Rs 104.4 per share on BSE with a market capitalisation of Rs 87,970.88 crore.

NTPC vs NTPC Green Energy: Q4 Profit

NTPC reported a consolidated net profit (attributable to owners of the company) of Rs 10486.47 crore in Q4FY26, up 37% from Rs 7611.22 crore reported in the year-ago period.

NTPC Green Energy's consolidated profit (attributable to owners of the company) stood at Rs 197.05 crore, down 15.5% from Rs 233.22 crore reported in the year-ago period.

NTPC vs NTPC Green Energy: Q4 Revenue, EPS

NTPC's consolidated revenue stood at Rs 49687.77 crore in Q4FY26 against Rs 49833.7 crore in Q4FY25. Its earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs 10.81. NTPC Green Energy's Q4 revenue stood at Rs 912.63 crore, against Rs 622.27 crore reported in the corresponding quarter. Its EPS stood at Rs 0.23.

NTPC vs NTPC Green Energy: Dividend

NTPC's board of directors approved 35% of final dividend for FY26. "Board of Directors have also recommended the final dividend at the rate of 35% (Rs. 3.5 /-per share) on the face value of paid-up equity shares of Rs. 10/- each for the financial year 2025-26, Subject to the approval of the Shareholders in the ensuing Annual General Meeting," read a BSE filing released on Saturday.

In addition to the final dividend, the NTPC board had announced the first interim dividend at the rate of Rs 2.75 per share and the second interim dividend at the rate of Rs 2.75 per share at the face value of Rs 10 each. NTPC's dividend yield stood at 2.28%, as per Trendlyne data. NTPC Green Energy has not announced any dividend since its listing.
