Nvidia Forms Strategic Partnerships with Indian Companies at AI Summit 2024

Nvidia has formed several key alliances with Indian companies, showcasing its dedication to leveraging India's potential in AI and data. These announcements were made at the Nvidia AI Summit 2024 in Mumbai, where Jensen Huang, Nvidia's founder and CEO, shared his vision for India as a future global leader in AI. He described the current tech landscape as undergoing significant changes due to AI advancements.

Nvidia Partners with Indian Firms for AI Growth

Huang emphasised India's transition from a software export hub to an emerging AI export powerhouse. Among the notable collaborations, Nvidia will work with Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries to create advanced AI computing infrastructure and an innovation centre. Nvidia will provide its Blackwell AI processors for Reliance's data centres and Hopper AI chips for major data centres run by companies like Yotta Data Services and Tata Communications.

AI Partnerships and Innovations

In collaboration with Tech Mahindra, Nvidia is setting up a Center of Excellence (CoE) to advance large language model frameworks and agentic AI. This CoE will be located in Tech Mahindra’s Makers Lab in Pune and Hyderabad, using the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform to offer customised AI applications that help clients integrate agentic AI into their operations.

Hanooman AI has launched Everest 1.0, India's own generative AI foundational model built on Nvidia's latest GPUs. This model supports 35 languages, with plans to expand to 90 languages soon. It can perform tasks like text generation, image creation, code writing, voice generation, and document analysis.

Industry-Specific Solutions

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has extended its partnership with Nvidia to introduce industry-specific solutions aimed at speeding up AI adoption. TCS highlighted that these tailored AI journeys combine deep domain expertise with advanced technology, allowing clients to realise value more quickly.

Gnani.ai has unveiled a speech-to-speech large language model powered by Nvidia's AI-accelerated computing platform. This model can handle over 10 million voice interactions daily. "By combining Nvidia accelerated computing with our conversational AI expertise, we are helping businesses achieve scale and efficiency with a business impact of over USD 6 billion," said Ganesh Gopalan, CEO of Gnani.ai.

Infosys has also launched its small language models—Infosys Topaz BankingSLM and Infosys Topaz ITOpsSLM—built on the powerful Nvidia AI Stack. These models are part of the Infosys Centre of Excellence for Nvidia technology and aim to help companies quickly implement and expand AI capabilities.

Expanding SaaS Applications

Chennai-based Zoho Corp has teamed up with Nvidia to integrate large language models into its SaaS applications, making these advanced tools available to over 700,000 customers globally. Over the past year, Zoho has invested more than USD 10 million in Nvidia's AI technology and GPUs and plans to invest an additional USD 10 million in the coming year.

E2E Networks has announced its partnership with Nvidia to introduce NVIDIA H200 Tensor Core GPUs to the Indian market. This marks one of the firsts for cloud services in India.

Huang noted that India possesses the essential resources to convert raw data into intelligence. "You can code it into a model and manufacture your own digital intelligence and export that," he told reporters. He urged Indian companies to prioritise AI development over chip manufacturing given India's capabilities.

A third of Nvidia's workforce is based in India, including engineering teams in Pune, Gurugram, and Hyderabad. These teams contribute significantly to chip design efforts across the company. Huang advised India not to delay entering this new manufacturing industry centred around AI development.

India is poised for substantial growth in compute capacities by 2024, according to Huang. He stressed that India should seize this opportunity urgently due to its existing capabilities and intellectual capital already present within the country.
