O Romeo Box Office Collection Day 1: Shahid Kapoor & Triptii Dimri Starter Opens Slow at Rs. 2.56 Cr

A high-octane drama arrived on the big screen this Valentine's week as a much awaited Hindi Hindi romantic action drama O Romeo released in the theaters today, February 13. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, the movie opened to mixed reviews and a modest start at the box office.

According to early estimates from Sacnilk, O Romeo box office collection on the first Day stands at around Rs. 2.56 crore, with numbers expected to update after the completion of night shows.

The film recorded an overall 8.63% Hindi occupancy on Friday,due to limited footfall in theatres on opening day.
Among key cities, Mumbai recorded 12% occupancy across about 792 shows followed by NCR with around 8% occupancy, & Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad with 7%, 9% & 8% occupancy respectively.

Advance Booking Trends

Before the release, the film showed moderate advance booking trends collecting roughly Rs. 1.67 crore in advance sales around Rs. 4.15 crore including block bookings as per data from Saknilk. More than 69,000 tickets were sold across 11,000+ shows, with the strongest pre-sales seen in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.

However, regional occupancy remained low, mostly in the 1%-10% range Tamil Nadu saw about 10% occupancy, grossing roughly Rs. 5.59 lakh while Andhra Pradesh/Telangana saw around 5% occupancy.

Made on an estimated Rs. 150 crore budget, O Romeo will need around Rs. 300 crore worldwide gross to break even.

About O Romeo: Story and Cast

Set in 1995 Mumbai's underworld, O Romeo follows Ustara, a contract killer whose unrequited love for Afsha,played by Tripti Dimrm pushes him into a revenge killing spree during gang wars and betrayal. The film has elements of storytelling, romance, and action-drama. It's also special because of Shahid Kapoor-Vishal Bhardwaj collaboration after the highly acclaimed films like Kaminey and Haider.

The movie also features mega stars in supporting roles by Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, and Farida Jalal.
