Oil Stocks Top Gainers In Nifty 500, Nifty; HPCL Hits New 52-Week High

Oil stocks in trade on May 21, 2021 have been the top gainers on both the Nifty and Nifty 500. This is as the benchmark Indian indices opened in trading at 15021 points on the Nifty. Meanwhile broader markets are also gaining in line with the headline indices with gain of close to 0.7 percent on the Nifty Midcap 100.

Interestingly, India VIX is trending lower indicating fear of a pullback in stock prices is receding and that indicates bullishness in the market.

IOC at the time of writing this report was up by 1.67 percent and was at day's high of Rs. 106.9, while BPCL and HPCL, also traded higher by over 2 percent 7 percent and in fact the made new 52-week high of Rs. 285.95.
