Amid lockdown to combat the spread of Covid 19 infection, cab aggregators Ola and Uber have suspended their services in Delhi till March 31, 2020.

On Sunday, the government of Delhi said the city will be under lockdown from March 23 to March 31 and during this time no public transport, including taxis, private buses and autos will be allowed.

In the wake of the coronavirus fallout, Uber, Ola which account for the major chunk of the taxis plying in the NCR region, had already cancelled their shared ride services earlier.
"Uber is complying with all Central and State Government directives related to its services for containing the spread of Coronavirus", a spokesperson from Ola is quoted as saying in a PTI report.

The centre and state governments have taken a decision to virtually lock down as many as 80 districts that have been hit by coronavirus infection.

During the lockdown all of the essential services relating to food, water, heath and power supply will remain continues and only 25% of the DTC buses will ply for taking across people in essential services. Further, all domestic and international flights remain suspended in the national capital.
