The Om Power Transmission IPO opened for subscription on today, April 9, but saw a subdued response on Day 1, with overall subscription at just 0.26 times as of early afternoon. Weak traction across retail and non-institutional investor (NII) segments, along with a modest grey market premium (GMP) depicts cautious sentiment among investors.

Muted Demand on Day 1
As per the Data available till 1:04 PM on the opening day shows that the IPO has struggled to gain momentum. The Retail investors subscribed only 0.21 times, the QIBs (excluding anchor) subscribed it for 0.51 times while the NIIs made the biddings only 0.04 times
While institutional participation appears relatively better, the lack of strong retail and HNI demand shows a wait-and-watch approach, which is not uncommon on the first day of subscription.
GMP Remains Low, Listing Gains Capped
The om power transmission ipo gmp today stands at Rs. 3.5, suggesting limited upside for listing day.

Brokerage views suggest that short-term listing gains may remain limited due to low GMP.
Swastika Investmart in its IPO review gave a subscriber rating to the IPO stating that, "Om Power Transmission has delivered consistent growth in both revenue and profitability, with an order book of Rs. 744.60 crore as of December 31, 2025. However, the sharp rise in profitability from FY25 onwards raises concerns about the sustainability of earnings. Based on current financials, the valuation seems to factor in most near-term positives, leaving limited upside. Investors with adequate capital and a long-term horizon may consider allocating a moderate portion of their portfolio."
Master trust Broking Investment stated, "The company is well-positioned as a power transmission EPC player, with capabilities across transmission lines, substations, and underground cabling projects. Its focus on turnkey execution, operational efficiency, and strong presence in high-growth regions enables it to capitalize on the increasing investments in transmission infrastructure. Investors may consider the IPO as a potential long-term investment opportunity."
