Onam 2026 Live Updates: Kerala Comes Alive As Thiruvonam Celebrations Begin Today; Here's What's Happening

Kerala and the rest of India has started the celebration of Thiruvonam, the tenth and most important day of the Onam festival which will be celebrated tomorrow on Wednesday, August 26th.

Onam is celebrated as the homecoming of King Mahabali, who is remembered very famously in Kerala as a fair and generous ruler whose reign is associated with peace and prosperity for all his subjects.

This is the end of the ten-day festivities that began with Atham on August 16. This year's Thiruvonam Nakshatra will begin at 10:51 PM on August 25 and run until 12:48 AM on August 27, aligning the star with the main celebration day.
